Part of a university assignment. Lunchology is a fictitious future catering brand that offers personalised lunch boxes to school children, eliminating the standard “one veg, one meat” lunch options that are currently offered at most schools.
The brief: Create a brand for a school catering company that would survive in 2027.
My research showed that many school only offer a standard meat and vegetarian option for lunches, limiting school dinners to bland options. In order to tackle this, I created the fictitious brand of Lunchology. Either through using an app or automatically through sensors, children can input their mood and food preferences to their account. Specialist cooks will prefer the food carefully in a bento-style lunchbox, hot or cold, and send them straight to the school where the child can collect it from a collection point.
The packaging of the food is personalised with a name, greeting, and avatar as decided by the child, along with details of what food is available. Highly colourful and bold illustrations are used as they would appeal to younger audiences. The food is not limited to just boxes and can include the likes of soup bowls with bread too. Illustrations surrounding the packaging changes depending on the date and season, such as Christmas, Halloween, and International Science Week.
