Illustrations for Ethics in Critical Thinking
Ethics in Critical Thinking is an online programme by the University of Leeds for the platform FutureLearn. As part of a 5-course programme, the course is categorised as a discovery module where you could earn university credit for completing the entire programme. My job was to design 5 illustrations to repreent the repeated tasks within each course that matches the branding developed.
Each course within a programme has its own colour palette which includes a primary colour, a few shades of the primary colour, and one accent colour; in this case a range of green shades and orange as an accent.
The illustrations are designed in a way where it is easier to add value to illustrations by creating a collage using cut-outs of multiple relevant images to create a scene, as opposed to spending large amounts of time finding very specific ‘perfect’ stock imagery that may not even exist. Choosing images shich are inclusive of the BAME communities as well as avoiding ‘cheesy’ staged stock images were some of my responsibilities when putting together the illustrations.
The illustrations created below are for the tasks students must complete within the courses which includes: Assignment, Peer Review, Provide feedback, Research task, and Revision research task.
